Liri Browser is an open-source, minimalist web browser built around Google’s Material Design principles. It was originally known as “Material Browser” and gets its current name from the Albanian word for freedom (liri). The primary goal of the project is to provide a clean, distraction-free browsing experience that fades into the background so you can focus entirely on your web content. 🛠️ Technical Foundation

Rendering Engine: The browser is derived from Chromium. It utilizes the QtWebEngine, which is powered by Google’s Blink rendering engine.

User Interface Framework: The UI is proudly built using QML-Material, a specialized QML framework. The developers later shifted infrastructure to QtQuick Controls 2 via a scratch-rewrite to achieve better code layout and cross-platform flexibility.

The Liri Ecosystem: While it is cross-platform, Liri Browser serves as a flagship component of the larger Liri OS (formerly Papyros) ecosystem—a Linux operating system designed entirely with a modern Material Design shell. ✨ Key Features Liri Browser
